Hyperfine
Developer of the Swoop system, the first portable ultra-low-field MRI for point-of-care brain imaging.
Hyperfine manufactures the Swoop system, a portable 0.064T MRI designed for bedside brain imaging in emergency departments, ICUs and clinical environments where conventional MRI is impractical. Founded in 2014 by Jonathan Rothberg PhD, Hyperfine developed ultra-low-field MRI technology, making brain imaging accessible at multiple points of care without transporting patients.
The Swoop system retains fundamental MRI principles while using modern computing power, image-centric computing and deep learning to enable portable operation. Hyperfine achieved the first Swoop brain images within one year, receiving FDA clearance in 2020. The system enables brain imaging where patient movement creates clinical risk or conventional radiology access causes delays.
Hyperfine Inc. is publicly traded on Nasdaq under ticker HYPR. Their technology addresses acute care needs for accessible neuroimaging.
